Marie Heyse
Originally from Normandy, Marie joined the Master Pro Cinema at the Sorbonne in 2012.
She is directing a docu-fiction, De lautre côté, produced by les Films d'Ici. After her studies, she co-wrote and co-directed two self-produced short films, Tombé du nid and Été mouillé, which feature adolescents and young adults. Today she is developing several fiction projects mainly focused on the strange and the fantastic.
In 2021, she direct Le Varou, a fantastico-rural short film, produced by Carine Ruszniewski of Gogogo Films, with the support of the CNC and the Normandy region. The project was notably developed within the Saint-Quirin writing residency in 2018, and received a special mention in the script competition of the Festval de Brive. In 2020, Marie is a laureate of the Création en Cours program of the Ateliers Médicis. This workshop fueled the writing of a short film, Mauvais Augure, which was subsequently selected for the 2020 Sofilm Gender Residency.
