When a concierge begins to prepare dinner for his nephew, a resident demands his immediate assistance. The concierge finds himself torn between attending to his employers never-ending requests and the boy's growing hunger. Left unsupervised, the boy sets out to make his dinner, ultimately taking a drastic turn.

Firas Itani
Filmmaker, Firas Itani, born in 1996 in Beirut, Lebanon, holds a BA in Film & TV from the Lebanese American University in Beirut and an MA in Filmmaking from the University of Sussex in the UK. Sugarcoat, his directorial debut participated in several festivals across Lebanon and the US. Firas recently completed his Master's in Filmmaking in the UK and is now exploring the UK film and TV industry. Lower Ground is his second independent short film which has just begun its festival run. A screenwriter and director at heart, his stories tend to focus on marginalized characters pushing against rigid social structures. They usually happen in real-time allowing for tension build-up. Firas is interested in the intersection between social satire, comedy, and drama.
