In the aftermath of a dry storm originally promising relief for a cattle station on the brink of catastrophic drought, a young man delays the inevitable euthanasia of his childhood horse Mary that has taken a lightning bolt to the head. Over the course of a day, Peter searches with his father for moisture in the soil but instead without hope he is forced to say goodbye to an old friend.

AARON LUCAS
He first trained as an actor at the University of Wollongong, Australia. Surrounded by ambitious budding actors, Aaron began directing theatre with his peers. After university, Aaron sidestepped into making films with his actor friends, directing short films The Clique (2018), Free Therapy (2019 Munich Film Awards Best Short Film), Mary (2023) and music videos for Flight to Dubais Graduation (2017) and Born Milds Poison (2021) and Fool For Lovin (2021). His independent pilot for Privileged won best comedy at SeriesFest in 2021 and Stareable LA 2022. More recently, his mid-length animated documentary Ill Be Frank was awarded First Prize for the Hearts, Minds Soul Award at Flickers Rhode Island International Film Festival and nominated for Best Documentary/Factual Single at the Australian International Documentary Conference Awards 2023. He is currently in development for his short film Robert [the robot], with which he was selected for European Short Pitch 2023. He is also in development for his debut feature film Luna, with which he participated in the TIFF Filmmaker Lab 2022 and the TIFF Writers Studio 2023.
