MIKOLAJ KOPEC
Mikolaj is a 21-year-old Polish young film director who grew up in France. His father, who grew up in Poland under the Communist regime, clandestinely went to the movies every Saturday and passed on his love for cinema to him when I was younger. Growing up, he decided to take his passion a step further, trying to create stories as worthy as the ones he loved watching. He made four shorts with no budget, including three with a longtime friend and a student movie, that all are available on YouTube.
His first inspirations are movies from major Polish directors like Krzysztof Kieslowski or Andrzej Wajda, but also American blockbusters (Mad Max, The Matrix).
He likes movies that can offer a rich storyline with endearing characters and doesn't limit his ambition to a particular genre, country or budget, as a good story has no boundaries.
